Mask Mandates

I am not sure how I feel about all the talk of lifting mask mandates. I think it’s really great and exciting that we are trying to move forward and get over this virus as more people get vaccinated, but I also feel like it’s too early and will set us back. If everyone starts not wearing masks, especially unvaccinated people, won’t that just spread the virus even more? It will be interesting to see how Texas does, as Greg Abbott has lifted their mask mandate. I also think it is really nice that I have heard about more and more people getting vaccinated and they’re not as scared as they were a few months ago. I know I was one of those cautious people, but now I think I will get the vaccine when it becomes available to me. I have not heard anything bad yet and a lot of my family members have got the vaccine, so I think I trust it more.

It is a few weeks later now, and I am actually planning on getting the vaccine later this week. My boyfriend tested positive, so I had to go get tested. I performed the test on myself and it wasn’t as bad as bad as I thought it would be! My test was negative. The CDC has now stated that if you are fully vaccinated, you do not need to wear a mask when you are not in a big crowd. I think this good news shows that we are moving forward a lot. The only thing that worries me is that I have heard of people faking vaccination cards now. I hope that this will run smoothly and we can continue to move forward!
